Construction of the Pension Brunelle guest house by the previous owner
Knowing where you come from
Understanding where you’re going
Grandparents Paul and Magdalena - “Lena” - have run the Saltner Hut for many years. Lena bought the plot of land on which the modern-day Hotel Saltria was built in 1964, and which she managed together with Paul and their three children Luis, Paul and Notburga; the ground stone for the hotel business was laid early for the Scherlin family, and with every generation, their love for hospitality has continued to grow.
Acquisition by the Scherlin family: Son Paul moved into the guest house with his wife Anna, and in the same year Markus, the owner today, came into the world. The guest house was an annexe for the neighbouring Hotel Saltria, where trained chef Paul ran the kitchen.
Thomas followed in 1985, and the family’s joy was complete.
Liquidation of Saltria GmbH: The three branches of the company were split between the siblings. Luis took over the Hotel Saltria, the Pension Brunelle guest house went to Paul, and sister Notburga the Residence Erika, until that time a part of the Pension Brunelle.
Renovation of the Pension Brunelle guest house: The existing building was extended to include a sauna area, which raised the status of the hotel to a 3-star establishment.
Extension: A part of the building was demolished, the dining rooms and swimming pool were built and the bedrooms were enlarged. As a result, the hotel raised its status once more, from 3 to 4 stars.
The next generation: In 2017, Anna handed over the hotel to her son Markus, who runs it together with his life partner Bettina and two sons Paul (2014) and Alex (2017).
Even more comfort: The Hotel Brunelle expanded to include the Brunelle Seiser Alm Lodge where, in the future, Bettina and Markus will be welcoming their guests with even more facilities and new services.
